Structure  

Individuals will be rewarded with vocational, academic and work related qualifications which can be used as a platform to enhance knowledge and skills and progress future learning whilst wotking for an organisation that offers personal and professional development.

The police service will benefit from:

  • provision of learning offering a holistic view of the Justice system and partnership working
  • staff with an understanding of the criminological and sociological impact of police interventions
  • the opportunity to direct research activities at a local (force) level (at Honours Degree)
  • greater resilience and flexibility in its staff through their depth of understanding in the service, now and for the future.

The public will benefit from:

  • members of the police service who are able to deal with the complexities of policing in the 21st century
  • members of the police service who are current and up to date with modern management skills
  • a police service that has managers and leaders with the skills and knowledge of the impact of policing interventions and how they affect the community
  • a police service responsive to the changing needs of the public and the local communities it serves
