The courses below detail a selection of our complete programme;
Initial Leadership Development Programme
Initial Leadership Programmes 1 and 2 are designed for police officers and staff who lead or are about to lead people for the first time. Delegates should, ideally, attend this programme either shortly before or shortly after their appointment to a supervisory position.
Programme 1 is designed to provide students with the knowledge and tools to effectively lead and manage people. Programme 2 develops that learning providing students with the tools effectively lead during the early stages of an operational incident, whether in the role of Sergeant or as a Police staff supervisor in an operational environment.

Intermediate Leadership Programme
This programme is designed for police officers and members of police staff who have or are about to increase their leadership and managerial responsibilities. Whilst it is not essential to have attended initial leadership development training, a number of aspects of this programme build upon the learning undertaken in the previous ILDP programmes.
Attendance on the following "Operations Modules" is recommended dependant on role requirement to supplement IntLDP:
Civil Emergencies and Major Incident Training (CEMIT) - Programme 40
Police Incident Officer Training - Programme 41
Football Match Commander Training- Programme 42

Women’s Leadership Development Programme
Women continue to be under represented throughout the police service. These women only courses have provided a number of benefits to previous delegates. These include positive support, empathy and understanding. The course is designed for women who are leaders or potential leaders who wish to build upon their existing skills in order to maximise performance.

Personal Development for Under Represented Staff
Black and Minority Ethnic Staff
Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) police officers and support staff continue to be under represented throughout the police service. BME only courses have provided a number of benefits to previous delegates. These include positive support, empathy and understanding. The course is designed for BME who are leaders or potential leaders who wish to build upon their existing skills in order to maximise performance.

Personal Development for Under Represented Staff
Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Staff
Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual (LGB) police officers and support staff continue to be under represented throughout the police service. LGB only courses have provided a number of benefits to previous delegates. These include positive support, empathy and understanding. The course is designed for LGB who are leaders or potential leaders who wish to build upon their existing skills in order to maximise performance.

Diversity Trainers Course
This programme will enable delegates to develop their awareness of equality and diversity issues in the widest context. Throughout the course delegates will be asked to challenge their own attitudes, values and behaviours in order to become an effective diversity trainer.

Senior Leadership Development Programmes
Senior Leadership Development Programmes 10, 11 and 13 are designed for officers and support staff who are responsible for the implementation of their Forces strategic vision.
The leadership element of this programme aims to provide students with the knowledge and tools to be effective leaders and implementers with the ability to deliver corporate and local strategy.
People, partnerships and performance is a programme designed to provide students with the skills to understand performance management, partnership working and collaborative leadership.
Financial management allows students to develop a basic knowledge of financial principles within a police environment.
The Chartered Management Institute has recently accredited these courses and candidates who successfully complete these programmes will have the opportunity to work towards the Institutes Executive Diploma in Management.

Managing Difference
Aimed at managers who are responsible for managing difference both internally and externally. Delegates will have responsibility for their forces strategic vision in terms of equality and diversity. This programme is designed to provide senior managers with the information they need to implement and monitor policy and practice in line with equalities legislation and the needs of staff.

Presentation Skills and Public Speaking
Aimed at all staff with are involved or likely to become involved in the delivery of presentations, this programme aims to provide delegates with the skills to present effectively.

Project Management
This programme aims to introduce delegates to the theory and a skill required to successfully manage projects and is aimed for staff who may become involved in project management or supporting project delivery.

Structured Debriefing
Designed for staff who will be required to conduct small group debriefing. This programme will introduce delegates to techniques to support structured debriefing with an emphasis on leading small groups in that process.

Process Mapping and Improvement
Designed for staff involved in, or about to become involved, in review, management and improvement processes. This programme will provide delegates with the tools to effectively map and improve processes.

Civil Emergencies and Major Incident Training (CEMIT); ‘Crisis and Consequence Management’ for Police Tactical Commanders
Designed for Police Officers who are likely to be Tactical Commanders, or be in support of a Tactical Commander, at a civil emergency or major incident. This one day seminar should equip students for these roles exposing delegates to multi agency working and the implementation processes associated with planning, preparing for and responding to ‘emergencies’.

Police Incident Officer Training
Designed for Police Officers who are likely to perform the role of Police Incident Officer (PIO) at operationally challenging incidents. This programme will equip officers with the skills to effectively carry out the role of the Police Incident Officer (PIO) and to introduce them to the Management Policy File and Toolkit for PIOs.

Match Commander
Designed for police officers who are likely to perform in the role of Match Commander, this programme aims to equip officers with an understanding of role and functions of the Commander at sporting events.

Firearms Tactical Commander/Critical Incident Simulation Training
Through a critical incident simulation exercise, this training aims to underpin the skills of the police officers who are currently Tactical Firearms Commanders.

National Intelligence Model; Effective Tactical Tasking and Coordinating Group Meetings
Designed for Police Officers who Chair or deputise for the Chair of either Local or Force Tactical Tasking and Co-ordinating Group (TT&CG) Meetings. This training will develop a full awareness and understanding of the benefits of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) Tasking and Co-ordination process for policing.

Crisis Negotiation
Designed for Police Officers, of Sergeant rank and above, who have been selected by their Force, after completion of the Scottish selection process, for the role of crisis negotiator. The programme will equip officers to effectively carry out the role of Scottish Hostage and Crisis Negotiator at related critical incidents

Police Search Team Training
Designed for selected members of the police service to act as members of the Police Search Team. This programme will equip delegates with the range of skills necessary for this role.

Media
This programme is designed for delegates who currently or may become involved in the development of media strategy. This programme will develop delegate’s understanding of media strategy leading to effectively conducting media interviews and press conferences.

Public Order Tactical Advisors Course
This course aims to provide selected officers with the skills to perform in this role.
