Development Advisors
The Development advisors:
- support the career development of superintending ranks and police staff equivalents, chief officers and Executive Team members
- assess individual development needs, enable clients to produce a Personal/Professional Development Plan (PDP) and advise on their development of leadership competencies
- provide support for clients in the pursuit of the development outcomes identified in their PDP to enhance their opportunity for lateral or vertical progression
- provide individual client support for around 2-3 years (Level Two only)
- encourage clients to maximise the learning benefits of both senior and chief officer development programmes
- provide a service to clients that is in harmony with the requirements of their own force
- support Chief Constables in the development of their senior leaders
- assist the Scottish police service to develop and maintain resilience in its leadership capability, by equipping individuals to take on the most demanding leadership roles
- support the ACPOS Equality and Diversity Strategy by assisting in the development of under-represented groups
- combine their experience of working within the police service with a wide range of experience and knowledge gained from out with the police service.
The Development Advisors will visit you at your force, or any other mutually convenient location.
