Intelligence/Information Recording

Intelligence Recording

Northern Constabulary

Following the implementation of the Scottish Intelligence Database within Northern Constabulary it was established that there had been a drop in the levels of intelligence submission. In order to address this issue the force installed a digital voicebank and employed dedicated personnel to manage intelligence submitted in this way.

This method of intelligence submission is supplementary to individual input by officers. As a result of this the force has seen a marked increase in the levels of intelligence submitted. This is considered to be a creative solution to the common problem around encouraging the submission of intelligence.

Data Standards

British Transport Police
