Introduction
While the core business of the Scottish Police College is the training of police officers from throughout Scotland and further afield, we are also able to offer a wide range of state of the art conference/seminar/meeting facilities. These can be hired on a non-residential basis Monday to Thursday (subject to availability) or on a fully residential basis from early Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon.
These facilities offer the ideal opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of the workplace environment to meet in our purpose-built lecture theatre or in some of our other conference/syndicate rooms which can be arranged to meet specific needs. All facilities come complete with Powerpoint and audio-visual equipment, whiteboards and flipcharts as required. The Culzean building, which was completed in June 1996 and which houses the main conference venues, has as its centre piece a purpose-built raked lecture theatre capable of seating up to 202 delegates with some additional capacity for persons with disabilities. The theatre comes complete with a wide range of audio visual equipment, including:
- Overhead Projector
- Video Projection System for Powerpoint presentations etc.
- Terrestrial & Satellite TV
- VHS Video & DVD players
The lecture theatre also benefits from full air-conditioning and lighting control and can be curtained off down two side aisles for smaller numbers and greater intimacy. Adjacent to the lecture theatre is a large, comfortably furnished lounge area for coffee breaks and buffet lunches.
The “Courtroom”, approximately 10 square metres in size, which can comfortably seat up to 60 persons “theatre” style is also available for smaller groups or as a syndicate or “break out” room. This venue also comes complete with a wide range of presentation equipment, flipcharts, etc.
Availability of Conference Rooms
There are also two conference rooms each capable of seating 40 persons theatre style and which can be subdivided for smaller groups. A range of syndicate and other rooms are also available. All rooms can be configured to meet specific needs, including access to ISDN facilities in a number of areas. All rooms come complete with TV/video player, OHP, PC for Powerpoint, whiteboards and flipcharts.
Alternatively, you may opt for a weekend residential conference where we can also offer comfortable en suite bedroom accommodation to complement the excellent range of meeting facilities. We are satisfied that our facilities are of a standard equal to those in some three star hotels, but at a price that is extremely competitive. Packages including catering requirements can be produced to match specific needs.
